There is something magical about cleaning, specifically sweeping and mopping. Maybe it’s just the “take pride in the work you do” mentality but there is nothing more satisfying then watching my babies play on a good clean floor. If my floor is dirty then it seems like the whole energy of the house can be downed with yucky vibes, but a clean floor is foundational for a clean home (literally 😂). And a clean home plays a role in a happy home, at least that’s what I think. So if it’s muddy paw prints from a rainy day or spaghetti noodles everywhere, there seems to always be a use for a quick spray and wipe.

With all that said I want to share my cleaner recipes that I use to ensure my floors are clean enough for baby to crawl on and safe enough for the paw lickers laying in the kitchen waiting for me to drop some chicken I’m shredding up for dinner. Before I can recipe dump, I have to add in a few disclosures since these recipes all include essential oils hand picked by me for their “cleansing properties”. So this is me letting you know that I am not a licensed medical practitioner and no statements made have been evaluated by the FDA, these “Blog Posts” are simply that, “Ramblings” of a Mtn. Mama! You can read my full disclosure {here} on the About page.

Okay so I must say how I use my cleaner concentrate. Each recipe yields 1 qt of cleaner concentrate and then I use 1/4 cup concentrate to each 16 oz amber spray bottle (I use these but you do you!). Then top the bottle with water. Shake, spray, clean. So each quart yields approx. 16 Spray Bottles of cleaners.
I’ve included 4 of my concentrate recipes, these are my daily go to cleaners and their uses. To jump to the recipes click here.
Dusting Spray - careful with this one. A little goes a long way. It works great on wooden coffee tables, dressers, and my kitchen table. I’ve used it as a mop water concentrate many times when I’ve run out of my floor cleaner. Then I only use 1/3 cup to 1 gallon of hot water in a mop bucket. Too much cleaner concentrate will make the floor slippery for little feet running down the halls. Don’t ask me how I know this… oops.
Blue Robin is the best window cleaner I’ve used, but maybe I’m biased because I know it doubles as a stinkbug exterminator. Listen, I’m all for catch and release with bugs and critters alike, but I draw the line on stink bugs. I also love the minty aroma the peppermint gives that lingers on the glass. Talk about relaxing, to sit and watch the rain when the sun hits the windows and it’s streak free and literally “minty fresh”. Mhmm. That’s the core memories where you look back and sigh in happy remembrance, knowing there was a time you prayed for this day to be here. Manifest what you want in all things, even the little things. Like sitting at the window watching the snow fall with your fuzzy socks, hot tea, and a worn out book; while boys are laying in the floor by the fire place coloring or crashing into snow piles with sleds. There you see, cleaning can be magical in the memories we make in the mundane of everyday.

All-Purpose cleaner is exactly that. I use this on counters, walls, spraying a rag to clean up the fridge (inside and out), everything! I especially like to use the All-Purpose spray in the sink and tub for those in between cleaning wipe downs; like when Bubba washed his muddy monster trucks in the tub before bath time. Ahhh, the joys of being a boy mom (insert a flood of adorable mental images of all the beautiful memories of my babies being babies).
Floor cleaner concentrate is pretty much an all purpose cleaner concentrate that is geared more for sensitive skin, since I got the babies playing in the floor and also the cat doesn’t like the smell of orange (insert eye roll at the dramatic kitty).
